Saturday

Geez!  Connecting to the internet has been hit or miss this week!  I have still been writing each day, so eventually I will post all of my notes and more pictures.  Highlights from this week include the ladies on our bus daring Henk to try this Huki leaf, which is a powerful hallusenegenic (err...where's spell check when you need it!?)  Instead of taking a small bite - this boy eats a whole leaf.  Other than making his tongue numb (and giving me a heart attack) he was fine.

In Swaziland went to a glass factory where they take all the recycled glass in Africa to be made into art.  (Aunty Valinda, I think you would have loved it!!!)  :)

Went on 2 game drives and saw all of the big animals...but no lions.  :(   We did see a leopart eating a giraffe carcus, which is apparently very uncommon to see.

Lot's of sightseeing and lots of great food...oh and lots of big bugs.   (Pictures to follow)  Today I saw a spider the size of my hand, and tonight I noticed an infestation of ants in my suitcase.  LOVELY.

We've made really great friends with all of the people on our tour.  Most are from Canada and a few are from the States.  They mostly remind me of my mom and dad, which is why I think we get along so well with them.  Henk made buddies with another man named Henk.  The joke all week has been "are you talking to big henk or little henk?"

Like i said the food has been amazing, and beer is cheaper than pop and water.  In a restaraunt you can buy a bottle of beer for about 50 cents....so breakfast beers it is!!!

Anyhow, we are in Durban tonight...and just going to stay in our hotel room - it's pretty sketchy out there and our tour guide gave us strict instructions to not leave after dark.  I much prefer the small towns, these big cities are pretty scary.  Take another flight tomorrow to Port Elizabeth and we`re hoping to take advantage of their laundry facilities!!!!!   Yesterday was plus 37 with 100% humidity so you can imagine what our clothes smell like!!!

Love you all - hopefully we`ll have another update sometime this week!
Below are a few pictures from this week.  You can see it, but in the last picture of the valley and hills - there were literally thousands of baboons perched on those hills.  at first it looked like little specks of pepper, but these baboons were covering the hills!  I think henk has a better picture where you can see the animals...Henk`s pictures are WAY better than mine, but the files are way too big to upload!  :)
